The amendment was in the mailbox. The books were still running the old schedule. Lease Desk read both.

Lease Desk reads every lease a clinic group holds, checks each landlord bill against what the lease says, and holds only what is wrong. It proposes the entries. A controller approves them. A gateway posts them. Every step is sealed to a hash chain anyone can verify.

1 · The hidden amendment

July rent came in $2,226.65 under schedule. The schedule was wrong, not the bill.

An under-bill is a signal, not a gift. The investigation agent searched the mailbox and found a countersigned amendment from the landlord’s authorised representative: rent down, term extended three years. Lower-ranked sources, a property manager’s claim, a forged sender and an injection attempt, were set aside. None can modify a lease.

2 · January

A month of landlord bills, checked line by line.

The checker reads every charge of the month against the schedule its lease implies, and holds only what it can prove wrong, citing the clause. Among January’s holds: a rent invoice billed twice, and rent for a suite the clinic does not lease. The rest goes to the AP clerk to pay.

The agent tried to post. Postgres said no.

The agent process holds a database role that cannot write the ledger: not a policy, a grant. A manager who answered the agent’s question may not approve the answer. Every attempt, allowed or refused, is hashed to the one before it, and the chain verifies on request.

The chain, newest on the right—

No chain to draw: the API is unreachable and no prove-limits run is on record.

      How it works

Read, check, hold. Then a person, then the gateway, then the chain.

The model reads. The code calculates. The database decides who may write. Each step leaves a record the next one cannot alter.

        Check

Every charge against the schedule the lease implies. Ordinary arithmetic, reproducible to the cent.

      3. 03

        Hold

Only what is wrong, with the invoice line and the clause boxed on the page. The rest pays.

      4. 04

        A person approves

Controller or regional manager. Never the agent, and never the person who answered its question.

      5. 05

        The gateway posts

The one database role that may write the ledger. The agent's role is refused by Postgres itself.

      6. 06

        The chain seals it

Every event hashed to the one before it. Anyone can verify; an edit shows as a break.

One case found the amendment. The same run covers every lease, every month, and asks a person the moment it is unsure.
